  • Susan Crowell

    Executive Director and Founder

Susan’s expertise in mental health and autism is shaped by a combination of lived experience and professional work, giving me a well-rounded and deeply personal perspective. As the child of a parent who struggled with mental illness, she gained early insight into the complexities, resilience, and lifelong challenges that can come with navigating mental health. This experience informs her understanding of the layered needs of autistic individuals, particularly those with co-occurring mental health diagnoses.

Her work within the special education system gives her a unique dual perspective, seeing firsthand the challenges schools face in supporting diverse learners, while also understanding the concerns, hopes, and advocacy efforts of families working to secure appropriate services for their children.

As a disability advocate and as a parent of a child on the autism spectrum for over 20 years gives her long-term insight into how systems, resources, and access to support have evolved. She have navigated these changes both personally and alongside other families, which strengthens her ability to offer practical, compassionate, and informed guidance.
