BuskerFest 2024

My Autism Ally is excited to participate in BuskerFest 2024.  This event is Saturday, May 18th from 3-9pm in downtown Fort Wayne. We will be providing a sensory calming area for this event. Spring Into Reading with Dr. Seuss

Light It Up RED

The Light it up RED campaign allows everyone to show their support for autistics in our community. Whether you light up a room in your home, your front porch, your business or a bridge we invite everyone in our community to participate during April- Autism Acceptance Month. Navigating the SSI Process

Glow In the Dark Egg Hunt

Join us on Saturday, March 2nd for our first AUSOME PLAYDATE of the year! What are Ausome Playdates you ask? They are small gatherings where the whole family is invited to come. These are great opportunities for your child to socialize and for you to connect with other caregivers. Some of the outings will be free, others will have additional cost. The event has limited space available and RSVP's are REQUIRED. Please fill out this form. Due to limited space, we are asking that each child be accompanied by ONE ADULT. For example, if you have two children, you can have two adults attending, but not more than two. Thank you for helping us serve as many families/children as possible.

Combat Ops will be closed to the general public during our event. Light refreshments are available for purchase from Combat Ops, but outside snacks are allowed for our kiddos that have food sensitivities. Combat Ops will have most of their games available- we're going to take a pass on the axe throwing...

2023 Autism Acceptance Walk

2023 Autism Acceptance Walk

Create a team and join us on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at the Allen County Fairgrounds 2726 Carroll Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46748 from noon-3:30pm. It’s an afternoon of activities and resources for the whole family- including supports for those of all ages on the autism spectrum. It’s free to park and attend so come out for the fun. Activities included:

food

indoor vendor fair

crafts

games

music play

pony rides

sensory exploration

cosplay- princesses and superheroes

local team mascots

touch a truck - including first responder vehicles

This year’s unity walk will start at 3pm. The event will end after the walk is completed.

The Autism Acceptance Walk is our largest event and fundraiser. Once again we are asking team captains to download the information packet and reach out to friends, families, co-workers, neighbors, anyone and everyone you know and raise funds for this year’s Autism Acceptance Walk to help individuals and families affected by autism in our community. My Autism Ally is a 501 c 3 and unlike other autism organizations, all donations stay and serve individuals, families in Indiana.

SafeinHome Training

SafeinHome empowers people to live independently in their own homes and communities using a remote supports staff and assistive technologies. We make daily living safer while respecting the dignity of choice. Paula LeMaster, regional consultant for SafeinHome, will be presenting on Tuesday, August 22nd from 6:30-8pm during the Adams/Wells Autism Support Group meeting. My Autism Ally is happy to host PJ Vaught from the Indiana Education Scholarship Program to speak and answer your questions regarding this new education opportunity in the state of Indiana. The Indiana Education Scholarship Account Program will provide students with disabilities throughout the state of Indiana access to the educational environment that best meets their learning needs. Parents of eligible students, or emancipated eligible students, will have the opportunity to spend dedicated scholarship money on approved educational programs, therapies, services, tuition and fees, and other expenses related to the student’s education. After learning about the Indiana Education Scholarship Program, you can learn more about a local option for utilizing that scholarship. Fort Wayne Pride Festival- Sensory Calming Area

Did you know that individuals with autism are 3x more likely to identify LGBTQIA+?

To support local autistics, My Autism Ally is proud to be a part of this year’s Fort Wayne Pride Festival by providing a sensory calming area. You can find us by entering through the main entrance of Headwaters Park and immediately turn left- following the signs! We will have a tent set up in the northwest corner of the fenced pavilion area. We will have calming items, chairs and water available. Our sensory area will be available 7pm-midnight on Friday and noon- midnight on Saturday.

The Lutheran Foundation: Annual Resource Fair and Family Fun Night

My Autism Ally is excited to be a part of the 7th Annual Our Children Our Future in partnership with the Lutheran Foundation Resource Fair & Family Fun Night on Thursday, May 18th. We will be providing a sensory play area as well as face painting during Family Fun Night!

The Resource Fair is scheduled from 1:00-3:00 PM and is geared towards family case managers, school staff, therapists, social workers and direct care workers in the community. Providers from throughout the community will be available to answer questions and provide information.

The Family Fun Night follows from 4:00-7:00 PM including a free meal,  giveaways, raffles, games for kids. The Resource Fair will also be available during the Family Fun Night portion of this event.

My Autism Ally is happy to host another training with Gordon Homes, Financial Planner from MassMutual via Zoom on Thursday, February 23rd from 6:30-8pm and we will be addressing Special Needs Trusts. Gordon's presentations are always very informative and well worth your time. The presentation will last about 45 minutes with plenty of time afterwards for questions.

As a Special Needs Financial Planner, I help families who have children or other dependents with special needs address the serious questions concerning their future well-being. I work together with parents or caregivers to help ensure lifetime care and quality of life.”
