The Center for Health Equity and Indiana Resource Center for Autism at the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community at Indiana University Bloomington have received funding from the Indiana Governor’s Council for People with Disabilities for the project Improving Sexual Health Literacy and Advocacy Skills for Adult Women with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in Indiana. The purpose is to help women with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) improve their health through better sexual health. Education about sexual health is important. We want to learn the best ways to create good sexual health education for women with IDD in Indiana.  In mid August, we are offering a pilot online training on sexual health for women with IDD. The training will be held on a weekday. The training will last for two hours, on one day per week, for six weeks. The training will be done online through Zoom video conference.

The link below explains who can participate in the training, which is for women with IDD in Indiana who are 18 to 49 years old. Women who can be in the training need to meet some requirements that are listed on the sheet. It has information about the stipend we will give people who participate.  Contact Melissa Dubie, Educational Consultant at Indiana Resource Center for Autism to set up a Zoom meeting to ask questions, have a two way conversation on friendships, and for her and her colleague Lydia Hamilton to share information about the training.  Melissa’s email is mdubie@indiana.edu or call her at work 812-855-6208.
